Popup Circus

‘In 2019, our school celebrated 50 years and as a new PTA committee we wanted to start off the celebrations with something we had not done before and to “go big”. We decided on a circus and selected Popup Circus after speaking to a couple of different companies.

From the start we couldn’t believe the support we received from Ed – from flexibility around how we wanted to run the two days (we had a day of workshops for over 400 children! as well as a day with 2 circus performances), advice on how to market the day, examples of tickets, leaflets etc and even some ideas for fundraising beyond selling tickets.

The day was a massive success! Popup arrived on Thursday evening and the tent flew up. The team just needed reasonable access to the field and we left them to it. They stayed at a local hotel and when we arrived back at school in the morning they were all set up and ready to go.

Despite having appalling weather (and we moved all our other activities inside), the two days were a massive success! The children had a great day at school learning circus skills and both adults and kids loved the show. We had such lovely feedback from families – especially around how it was nice to feel like the day was for everyone, how funny the show was and how it was nice to get something for the money spent – and not just kids high on sweets :-) All in all we managed to raise nearly £6,000 – it was a busy day but well worth it and we would highly recommend Popup and will be using them again very soon!’ – Claire, Ashby Willesley Primary School PTA

Everything is provided – the colourful circus tent, a cast of professional circus artists with up to 300 seats, lights, PA, power – so it’s on with the show!!
