Encourage children to think about issues facing farmers with this national competition

When? Closes 21 December 2018
Age? Primary school children
Prizes and outcomes The snappily titled Farmvention (when farming meets invention) is a national STEM competition aimed at primary school children, run by the NFU. Comprising three problem-based challenges that children can take part in either as individuals or in teams, the competition is designed to make children think about the day-to-day issues faced by farmers and growers in England and Wales. Finalists will present their ideas at a prestigious event at the Houses of Parliament during British Science and Engineering Week 2019, as well as winning farm visits, robotics kits, data loggers and chef visits. The winner will have their school turned into a farm for the day. All entrants will become certified ‘farmventors’ and will also receive a reward pack.
